Audi testing new camouflage for Q2, suggesting a mid-cycle overhaul is on the cards
This is Audi’s smallest SUV, the Q2. It was designed with a fresher face with an overhaul between the life cycle and prototypes that were first seen being tested.
Although the car is disguised, however, we can see the subtle changes. Expect a freshened colour pallete and new alloy wheel designs. At the front the front bumper is modified. Rear and an updated headlight design. Also LEDs can be fabricated as standard.
Audi hasn’t revealed interior updates for this new Q2. Recently, Audi has moved its high-end models over to a new interior layout focused around a dual-screen infotainment and climate system. However, the A4 continue with the dashtop-mounted screen. The Q2 is likely to retain that, but with a wider screen, the latest graphics and software features plus an updated Virtual Cockpit digital instrument display.
Some information suggests that the Audi Q2 will be equipped with some lightweight 48v hybrid engine options, aimed at improving efficiency. As with other models from the Ingolstadt brand, expect this to be only available on more powerful versions.
Audi will launch the Q2 and the second half of next year. By 2021 it will be available in the market.
