Finished in a distinctive shade of ‘Anniversary Orange’, the Elva M6A Theme by MSO has been created in tribute to company founder Bruce McLaren’s iconic M6A, with which he won the 1967 Can-Am Challenge Cup.
Whereas the original car was powered by a naturally aspirated Chevrolet-derived 5.9-litre V8, today’s road-legal car packs Woking’s range-topping 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8. Compared to the standard, the new MSO does not change mechanically. It produces 804bhp and in less than three seconds it can crack sprint 0-62mph.
Inspired by sports cars, the special edition incorporates a subtle gray strip along the bodywork. The prominent ‘4’ decal is a reference to the Kiwi’s long-standing race number. A retro-inspired ‘McLaren Cars’ logo and Bruce McLaren’s signature.
Inside, the dominant color tone is still orange. It is available in the center console, brake calipers and door panels. In addition, the far body support is the new 10 spoke alloy wheel, painted black.
Prices start from £1,425,000, including UK VAT. McLaren will build just 399 examples of the Ferrari SP2-rivalling Elv. After Speedtail’s production allocation is completed, customers will receive the car later this year.
