Review Lotus Exige S
Going on a road in the city, someone accidentally accuses me of rhyming words with the bank.
Harsh … must be a collar and tie.
I want a car of this color, I tell the strong yeoman with a big shirt and mouth to match, rather than having to wear it to work.
If not easily this green, then it works on Lotus for the same reason as the old spouse’s clobber. This low-caliber gun is in danger of constantly becoming a mobile speed hump for a bargain in an SUV. It pays to be seen.
If this color is not for the timid and retired types, then the Exige S 2008 is not the least with the optional $ 11,000 Performance Package.
This is good for 179kW / 230Nm, equal to the limited edition Sport 240. Has new equipment and alarm / stationary equipment. The power boost goes through the Magnuson / Eaton M62 supercharger, the nozzle flows faster, the system has a higher torque clutch and a roof accelerator spoon. So Exige S PP can reach 100km / h from standing in 4.16 seconds.
Maximum speed of 24 km / h is not nearly inferior to the only recently built 2-Eleven. As always with Lotus, the key is found in the power equation (light); 191kW per ton. Weighing 935kg, this is a pocket supercar for a fraction of the question.
Hero feature that combines launch control and traction control function from 2-Eleven. A dial on the steering column selects the starting rotation to start optimal standing. Pushing the big pedal down (which is rarely the term for accelerators more suited to Lotus), letting go of the clutch and almost instantly the horizon became foreground.
The degree of intervention of traction control can be adjusted similarly, within 30 increments, from 7% slip to all bets. The starter function, which we sampled on 2-Eleven, was not set on our vehicles. That may well be so, because while the Exige S is a day track rapper, we’ve done about 500km on the goats racing through public roads in NSW. On more isolated things, Exige trembled several times from their reaction.
Torque goes up smoothly from around 3500rpm, power 1500rpm after that, and soars for up to eight hours. If you are tired of this visceral fever, then you are tired of life. The thrilling throttle naturally paired with a super-high whine – only a few centimeters from the back of your head – sounds unusual. Steering is not hindered by assistance completing the Lotus equation.
The ride, of course, is terrible above all, except for the rare stretches of state traffic. However, the fact that we went out a bit directed and just continued for 500 clicks, saying everything.
