Review the Jeep Grand Cherokee 2019: Trailhawk
Jeep car. Sure, it is owned by an Italian company that also produces Alfa Romeos, but nothing says’ Merica quite like this brand, with the origin of making small trucks go anywhere for the Army. United States during World War II.
Jeep even claimed to have created the original SUV with Wagoneer in the early 1960s, and in such a way that the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk was its great grandchild.
The Grand Cherokee is Jeep’s largest SUV and of the six different types you can have, the Trailhawk is marketed as a tougher, family-capable member.
So, how much does Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk cost, what features does it come with and what do it like to drive? I found out when Trailhawk came to live with my family for a week.
Is there anything interesting about its design? 8/10
Trailhawk is the most striking view of all the Grand Cherokees. There’s matte black bonnet decals to reduce glare, 18-inch off-road alloy wheels with jeep WWII icons (see image) and restores the color hook of your face when you have to drag Get out of the surf after thinking it is a good idea to put your boat there.
Well, but even the best people sometimes get bogged down, it’s all part of the adventure. And as a bit of a guarantee, there’s a Trailrated badge on the side worn by all the most off-road capable vehicles built by Jeep.
Making it a bit more refined on the road is the Trailhawk’s 36-degree approach angle, 22-degree breakout angle and 27-degree departure angle. The Overland class is classy but also has the ability to off-road above Trailhawk in range, and it also shares those numbers.
As for the rest of the Trailhawk, at 4.8m to the end and 1.9m across, it has the same length and width as the entry-level Laredo and Limited, but the shorter height is just under 1.8m.
The cabin is luxurious and tough, a place where red Nappa leather seats stitched with Trailhawk floating badges meet large, rubber floor mats waiting for mud shoes.
Compared to other large SUVs, many of which resemble used bars of soap in its sleek form, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk is an inappropriate brick, and I find that appealing.
Does it represent good value for the price? What features does it come with? 8/10
OK, Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk is not cheap. The list price of $ 73,500 makes it $ 26,000 more than the entry-level Laredo, but you’re getting more than fancy red hooks and badges.
There are Nappa leather seats I mentioned above, all of which are heated and the front seats are also ventilated and electrically adjustable. There’s also a heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, 8.4-inch touchscreen with sat nav, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, nine-speaker Alps stereo system, power tailgate, proximity keys and start button. motions, along with privacy behind the glass.
Trailhawk also comes standard with many advanced safety devices, you can read more about the title Safety below. And then there’s the 4×4 system, which you can get excited about in the Drive and Engines section.
How realistic is the inner space? 8/10
The seats are wide, the space stack, a big boot, but only enough space for five people. That is the whole part in a sentence. Move on to the next section if you’re in a hurry – I won’t be offended.
Still here? Great, people who just skim the worst. Not that you, though, are great and smart because you want details and I’ve got them. Things like, even up to 191cm tall, I can sit behind my driving position with about 100mm of distance between the knees and the back of the seat. The backroom headroom is fantastic, too.
In the front, the seats are wide and big enough to accommodate even a large buffalo like me. Nothing makes my goat any more than the small dogs, inspired by racing seats in an SUV that make me feel like I’m sitting in a carton of milk.
The only problem with the seats is not having enough of them. The Grand Cherokee is a five-seater SUV and the lack of third-row seats is a weakness when compared to seven-seat off-road rivals such as Land Rover Discovery, Ford Everest or Toyota Fortuner.
Storage in the cabin is good, but not great. The door pockets on the small side but have two cup holders at the back and two at the front, a large central control box under the armrest and a hidden hole in the front of the shifter containing two USB ports.
There are two other USB ports in the second row, along with vents for returning passengers there.
There are two 12V sockets – one on the front and one on the inside of the boot.
Speaking of boot, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk’s cargo capacity is 782 Liters.
What are the important stats for engine and transmission? 9/10
Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk has a 3.0-liter turbo diesel engine, 184kW and 570Nm capacity. It’s a powerful beast of an engine that feels strong and responds quickly, and without much delay.
Looking for a good SUV to tow? Well, combining 570Nm from 2000 rpm with towing capacity of 3500kg and you already have a damn good rickshaw on hand
The gearbox is an eight-speed automatic, with drive sent to all four wheels, and with a two-speed gearbox. The Trailhawk is marketed as a tough all-terrain vehicle in the Grand Cherokee, and therefore it comes with Jeep’s sophisticated ‘Quadra Drive II’ system and a low range.
The air suspension also means it can increase ground clearance from 205mm to 260mm.
How much fuel does it consume? 7/10
A V6 will thirst, right? It’s a diesel, so it will be more economical than a six-cylinder petrol engine, but Jeep says if you drive a combination of open and urban roads you should use 7.5L / 100km. 93L fuel tank means you can go nearly 1200km. Note that ‘maybe’, but you must drive super carefully. Driving my own trip computer let me know it is using 11.1L / 100km.
What safety devices are equipped? What is a safety assessment? 8/10
Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk was rated up to five stars when the updated version was introduced in 2017. Although it was two years ago, Trailhawk still comes with a complete list of advanced safety equipment with AEB, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control.
Don’t like thinking of parking a big metal and keeping traffic when you try to squeeze in, just to stuff it? Yes, Trailhawk has an automatic parking system that works for perpendicular and terrifying parallel parking.
